Oscar provides the experience and energy of over 15 years worth of managerial and business development expertise in the life science industry—including executive level management, sales and marketing, information technology, and operations. At the same time, he brings a diverse background in clinical laboratory medicine, with experience in global contract research organizations as well as hospital and reference laboratory environments.
In 2002, Oscar was founder and COO of one of the largest privately held biorepositories in the world: BioStorage Technologies. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, BioStorage now has locations in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to that, he worked for Covance Central Laboratories and Mayo Medical Laboratories.
Oscar received his bachelor of science degree in medical technology from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He also holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Colorado.
In addition to being president and CEO of MicaGenix, Oscar also serves as chairman of the board.
